out and about (in Savannah) // The Coffee Fox

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

Matt and I have a new must-visit stop in Savannah. It’s called The Coffee Fox….we are a bit obsessed. Earlier this month when we were in Savannah to shoot a wedding, we went twice. This past visit (last weekend) we knew that it was a visit we had to make! The coffee fox offers a hip, laid back atmosphere, and delicious (delicious!) coffee. They also have yummy pastry and cheese board varieties! I usually get a drip coffee with cinnamon, and Matt a Horchata latte, we love it! Oh, and the fact that it’s located just a street corner away from The Paris Market sure doesn’t hurt either! ;)

It’s not a trip to Savannah without a visit to The Coffee Fox!

I leave you on this Tuesday with two thoughts:

- I sure do have a lot of photos of me sipping coffee here and there….true to life I guess.haha

- I’m playing around with the idea of creating a “guide to Savannah” button on the sidebar. That way, if anyone wants to plan a trip to Savannah , and wants to know all of our favorite stops, it’s all in one place! An actual guide to our favorites, as well as links to out-and-about posts….whatcha think?

That time I felt a bit like Charlotte Charles in my lucky orange dress…

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Lately, Matt and I have been taking our cameras with us much more often when we go out and about. We have also been making an effort to “shoot just to shoot” once a week. For ourselves. We try not to add pressure that these photos be used for anything, blogging, social media, or otherwise. The goal is that once a week we are challenging our photographic brains. We  take photos of one another, beautiful places…whatever. These are from Easter Sunday.

I was wearing my favorite (very) orange dress! I feel like it makes me brave. Is that a strange way to feel about a dress? Between the bright, brave dress, and the way that my hair was falling that day, I realized just how much I was having a “Chuck” kind of day. “Chuck” of course being Charlotte Charles from Pushing Daisies. Don’t get me wrong, I do not believe myself to look anything like Anna Friel, the actress that plays Chuck. But I feel like this outfit was very in line with what Chuck might wear, if not a bit more casual. “The facts are these”….brave clothing makes me much more comfortable in front of the camera.

Do you have any clothes that make you feel more brave, or like a favorite character?

We left our hearts in Savannah

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

I really do feel like we leave a little piece of ourselves behind every time we depart from Savannah. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE living in Lakeland, more than I ever thought we would actually. But there is something lovely about Savannah that stole our hearts our very first trip….I wish we could be here once a month but I guess I have to savor the time that we do have there. It was waaay more cold (and also rainy) than we were anticipating so taking the camera along wasn’t always the best option.

So, I give you…..a whole giant miss-mash of random photos from our time in Savannah!

We had to take another trip to Back in the Day Bakery of course! I’m glad to enjoy from scratch banana pudding and glass bottle cokes with my love in an adorable retro bakery any day!

Sometimes when you walk the ENTIRE city, you find stinkin’ awesome burger places that are sure to become staples…like Betty Bombers in the VA building. Delicious!

Hello gravy fries!

In Savannah…you can even have fun in the parking garages.  ;)

This place had the most amazing bottomless salsa (which has sparked a MAJOR salsa kick in the Kent home by the way) , delicious tacos and quesadillas, and local craft beer! Seriously. Taco Basement,on Broughton Street…if you are ever in Savannah !

only in Savannah….

Only in Savannah do you turn the corner to find a hipster dude perched on the side of a building with  his pup, playing an accordion. He was really talented actually….and then he started singing! Amazing voice, crazy accordion skills ….thanks dude, you’re neat!

Who knows, maybe we will bump into each other!  :)

out and about : Oxford Exchange

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

A couple weeks ago Matt and I took at little trip to Tampa to finally see a local spot that we had been hearing about all year. The Oxford Exchange. My lovely friend Katie ( she has an awesome blog guys…go say hi!  ) and her fiancé Brian agreed to meet us there for a bit before we set off to take some engagement photos…but we got there a tad early to explore a little bit.

I give you the Oxford Exchange.

out and about : to the lake

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013

Matt and I live about 5 whole minutes from one of the many lakes in our city. It’s so nice to be able to take little walks when the weather is nice.Oh, and speaking of that. Remember how I said that it was time to pack up all of my winter weather bundley clothes because Spring had begun in Florida? Well, scratch that. It’s not super cold, but this is definitely not Spring weather at it’s finest….let’s call it “somewhat Spring” shall we? This means chillily mornings and nights but in typical Florida fashion extremely high daytime temperatures. Whadya do?

So last night Matt and I got lightly bundled up to head down to the lake and feed the ducks, because I might be a 10 year old in my heart and dearly love to feed ducks, or fish, or whatever the creature may be.  Our tiny lakeside adventure…..

So these ducks, right here….they knew what I had. And they wanted it. They also stalked up until they got it.

See what I mean?

I dont’ think you knew this. But, you are currently reading the blog of Sara, the rebel.

I laugh in your face sign, because you have a cool garage-thing, and I want to stand in it.

( no, I do not have a secret wish to get shot by a neighborhood crazy…I’m just a rebel like that)  ;)

….after all, this is an adventure.

Okay, maybe it’s part-time rebel , part-time scardypants….

Good little adventure.  :)
