out and about (in Savannah) // The Coffee Fox

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

Matt and I have a new must-visit stop in Savannah. It’s called The Coffee Fox….we are a bit obsessed. Earlier this month when we were in Savannah to shoot a wedding, we went twice. This past visit (last weekend) we knew that it was a visit we had to make! The coffee fox offers a hip, laid back atmosphere, and delicious (delicious!) coffee. They also have yummy pastry and cheese board varieties! I usually get a drip coffee with cinnamon, and Matt a Horchata latte, we love it! Oh, and the fact that it’s located just a street corner away from The Paris Market sure doesn’t hurt either! ;)

It’s not a trip to Savannah without a visit to The Coffee Fox!

I leave you on this Tuesday with two thoughts:

- I sure do have a lot of photos of me sipping coffee here and there….true to life I guess.haha

- I’m playing around with the idea of creating a “guide to Savannah” button on the sidebar. That way, if anyone wants to plan a trip to Savannah , and wants to know all of our favorite stops, it’s all in one place! An actual guide to our favorites, as well as links to out-and-about posts….whatcha think?

out and about : Oxford Exchange

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

A couple weeks ago Matt and I took at little trip to Tampa to finally see a local spot that we had been hearing about all year. The Oxford Exchange. My lovely friend Katie ( she has an awesome blog guys…go say hi!  ) and her fiancé Brian agreed to meet us there for a bit before we set off to take some engagement photos…but we got there a tad early to explore a little bit.

I give you the Oxford Exchange.

Now, all of you move to Florida so that we can go on beautiful coffee dates!  :)

out and about : to the lake

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013

Matt and I live about 5 whole minutes from one of the many lakes in our city. It’s so nice to be able to take little walks when the weather is nice.Oh, and speaking of that. Remember how I said that it was time to pack up all of my winter weather bundley clothes because Spring had begun in Florida? Well, scratch that. It’s not super cold, but this is definitely not Spring weather at it’s finest….let’s call it “somewhat Spring” shall we? This means chillily mornings and nights but in typical Florida fashion extremely high daytime temperatures. Whadya do?

So last night Matt and I got lightly bundled up to head down to the lake and feed the ducks, because I might be a 10 year old in my heart and dearly love to feed ducks, or fish, or whatever the creature may be.  Our tiny lakeside adventure…..

So these ducks, right here….they knew what I had. And they wanted it. They also stalked up until they got it.

See what I mean?

I dont’ think you knew this. But, you are currently reading the blog of Sara, the rebel.

I laugh in your face sign, because you have a cool garage-thing, and I want to stand in it.

( no, I do not have a secret wish to get shot by a neighborhood crazy…I’m just a rebel like that)  ;)

….after all, this is an adventure.

Okay, maybe it’s part-time rebel , part-time scardypants….

Good little adventure.  :)

Pine-Stock

It occurs to me that I never did show off our new (awesome!) coffee table. Which means that I also didn’t mention that Matt made it!

Yup, it’s true. My handsome husband designed and built this table with his own two manly hands.

Impressed?…. am. I am just about every day when it comes to Matt.

Now, I must make a small apology for what’s to come….a post full of bragging. Bragging about my talented man. I’m so proud of what he is able to do and how hard he has worked to build this business over the last few months..so, you see, I can’t help myself. Then again, this isn’t the first time I’ve spent some time braggin’ about his skills. ( proof! )

Maybe I can just leave the bragging to the photos?

reclaimed barn wood cheeseboard.

reclaimed barn wood soap dish (with lovely soap my mother-in-law makes)

Reclaimed Tennessee barn wood farm table.

reclaimed barn wood/ leather USB drive. ( I need about 5 of these!)

black walnut honey board.

He has bringing home these lovely handmade wooden pieces all month long, ever since he and his Dad launched a kickcstarter for Pine-Stock. If you are unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it’s a funding platform for creative projects. Basically a way that you can invest in small business and their projects, and receive “rewards” in return….some of those goodies up there are the “rewards”. They are at the 68 hour mark for the project funding deadline, so things are getting really exciting in this house! Follow the link if you want to help!

I love and admire Matt so much. He’s so talented and driven. I’m excited to see what he does next!

Alright, alright, enough of this mushy stuff….thanks for lettin’ me be a braggy pants. I just think he’s neat!

A couple weeks ago, I confessed that I am incredibly uncomfortable in front of a camera. But I really want to get better about it. After all , as a professional photographer I have got to be able to keep others comfortable in front of my camera. So, if I figure out the things that make me more comfortable, I will be able to keep other comfortable much more easily. This is how my brain works.

Matt snapped a couple photos the other night …and I actually like them. I like photos of myself…miracle. lol

P.S. I put these through Lightroom myself. I will learn this photo editing thing by golly!

Lovely Wednesday all!
