Fashion trends come and go. They are definitely not to be worn by all.
But I really think that peplum is a trend that anyone can wear! I think they look fantastic on all shapes and sizes. You can choose a lacey, floral or chiffon option if you are a “girlier” dresser (this is not really me) or opt for a solid color, a stripe or even some with harder touch like studs (or leather!) if you are into a less girly look.
I took a little pinterest peplum tour and here’s what I found (and loved!)
This look on the left is absolutely a look that I would wear! The black and yellow are lovely together.
The photo on the right is a diy peplum top! This is exciting , not to mention awesome motivation to finally learn how to sew!
(both these sites are awesome, so I would follow the links and poke around a bit , they both have homes in my google reader now!)
I’m really enjoying this “Minnie Mouse” look, and you know that I love polka dots!
I’m typically not a big “red wearer” , but I’m discovering that with my coloring shades in the orange and red family are a good fit! So, I’m workin’ on it! Both these tops are from Modcloth (a bit pricey) so I think I’m gonna scour Forever 21 and see what I can find that’s similar! (any suggestions on where I can find some affordable and adorable peplum are welcome!)
Striped peplum! yeeeeeeeeeees. I saw this top on Elsie last week and that’s when I realized how cute the peplum look is even when it’s causal! I am after one of these Modcloth stripy peplum tops for sure! On the Christmas list! (hint hint Matt *)
Bring on the orange! I am loving that tank on the bottom for layering this fall! (not to mention all by itself come spring!)
and Michelle Williams peplum gown…..come on. perfection.right down to the bow at the hip.LOVE.
Peplum love. Time to hunt!
Seriously. Links to affordable versions of this trend are very welcome!

I’ve been so hesitant to try the peplum but these pics might have just convinced me otherwise!
