When I thrifted this Mickey Mouse tee shirt, i knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! A couple months ago I shared a link to a lovely blog showing how to make a tee shirt into a tank. I loved this shirt because of the stripes and I knew it would get it’s wear since we go to Disney so often….it was the perfect candidate for this re-do!

This thrifted tee started out looking like this:

Following the tutorial instructions, I cut the sleeves off next. ( i didn’t throw them away though!)

Next it was goodbye to the collar!…It’s looking more like a tank already

(albeit the kind that dudes work out in…but it gets better)

…I’m gonna just be honest here. I got so excited about the next couple steps of the process that I totally forgot to take photos.

shame on me.

….this is what it ended up looking like.

I added a couple of my own tweaks to it, to make it fit my style a bit more. Like yellow stitching along the side seams to make it a bit more fitted (and add a bit more color), made a couple fabric blooms from the sleeves I hacked off,and made the it more of a v-neck!

I’m pretty happy with the final product. I mean stripes and Mickey Mouse….I’m down.

Plus is was a good excuse to dork out with some new camera equipment. More to come on that later. ;)

worn : week 12

This week was a bit out of the ordinary. We drove to Savannah to shoot a wedding, and then had ourselves a mini Disney vacation!

I am very proud of myself. Jeans really didn’t make the cut all that much this week! It’s something I have been trying to change.

Before I started this “worn” series (which I view as a challenge for myself, something to keep myself accountable to changing things up often!) I would wear jeans and a cute shirt every day. Now, don’t get me wrong…there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I just personally felt like I was getting stuck in a style rut….and I think that kind of put my creativity in a rut too.

But I’m breakin’ out!

Roadtrip to Savannah with Matt!

We hit the road to Savannah to shoot a wedding over the weekend! ….and we might have stopped at the mall in Orlando along the way. (hence why these outfit photos are taken in the Anthropologie dressing room! lol ….fantastic lighting in there!)
