guilty….

Of over-using my camera phone!

I’m a professional photographer for crying out loud! I have a (very very not cheap) camera…but I am guilty of opting for the convenience of my camera phone to capture on-the go memories.I am ashamed of this sad fact. I really want to challenge myself to make the effort to carry around the old DSLR more often. I just worry. I worry that bringing my camera (which I baby) into my casual everyday life will cause me to stress out a bit. To be less casual, less in the moment….does that make any sense at all?

But I will overcome this fear. The fear of something happening to my camera baby…..or my easy-going personality.

Challenge accepted!

Anyhow, here’s a few photos I snapped on the old camera phone from this week when Matt and I had our sweet niece Gabby stay the night. We fed the duckies, ate chicken nuggets, built a fort, and watched a lot of Phineous and Ferb!

It was good fun! Tiring but fun. Matt is oh-so-good with the children folk.  :)

Come back tomorrow to see what I wore!

    1) Totally guilty. I was actually thinking this yesterday. I’ve gone way farther though, I don’t even use my DSLR for blog and food shots anymore! Eep. I’m getting way lazy, but my iPhone camera takes such good pictures and its so much more accessible. I’m going to try to take the challenge with you.

    2) I love how sweet Matt is with your niece! He’s gonna be a great dad some day.

    3) I LOVE that brown sofa!

      1) thank you! Matt picked it up at a local auction for $35!

      2) He really IS going to be the best Dad…one day :)

      3) I know ! The cameras on our phones are just so darn convenient ! It’s not our fault! But it will be good to have someone else challenging it up with me!

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the good ole phone pics. It makes it so easy to catch those everyday moments we couldn’t otherwise catch on film. There are plenty of other opportunities for your fancy smancy camera… :)

Well, thank you ! I know I don’t have to use that fancy schmancy camera, I guess when I really think about it…it just seems like a bit of a waste not too. But I’m relieved to know that I am NOT the only one that takes great advantage of that wondrous invention that is the camera phone! :)

At least you use a phone. I use an iPod touch. I’m so ghetto, I don’t even have internet. :P I have a flip phone. But, I have an interest in photography. I just can’t afford cameras and lenses (and film to be developed). So, I have an iPod touch–Hipstamastic or whatever it’s called is what I mainly use because at least I feel somewhat decent picking lenses and films. Something tells me that their lenses are not actual lens names.

  4. My husband gave me a DSLR for my birthday last year and I absolutely love it, but it’s hard for me to get used to using. I’m starting to use it more for blog posts but I really should get it out there for general day to day stuff!
