A friend of mine lent this book to me. It is well worn as apparently she has read it a good 30 times. Her absolute favorite book. I really couldn’t pass up a recommendation like this. I had seen the movie adaption a couple years ago when it came out, this was before I was a very big reader anyhow and I really didn’t take the time to check out and compare the book.
When I saw the movie…well I thought it was a bit trippy. The story is that of a young girl who is murdered by a neighbor ( you find this out pretty early into the book and the movie ) and the measures her family takes to prove it. It delves into what happens to a family when a member, especially a child, it murdered. The girl’s name is Susie Salmon , and you get to see “her” heaven , as well as her attempts to lead her family in the rich direction to capture her killer.
I’m about half way through now, and so far I really like it…….what have you been reading?

I love this book! I still have to see the movie, but I always think the books are better
Just finished “5th Avenue 5 a.m.” about the making of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and am now reading “Thunderstruck” by Erik Larson. Been on a bit of a non-fiction kick lately
