Welcome to a new week friends! I told you on Friday that Matt and I have recently been away for a few days for a much needed retreat by the sea…it was lovely. I have a really hard time when I am on vacation. It’s so hard to shut down your brain, forget the to-do list, and just unwind. . . but it’s so good. :)
I did manage in the midst of all my relaxing to take some photos with my trusty iPod. I used my new favorite app VSCO cam! I like it better than instagram because the filters are a lot more subtle. enjoy!
our favorite breakfast at the beach was coffee (of course!) and quinoa with coconut milk, raw cashews, berries and bananas!
We did a photo project for our friends Robyn and Jarrid who taught us this recipe!…..you can check it out here! and seriously, you should make this to enjoy yourself. The combinations are endless and it’s packed with protein….seriously my favorite breakfast!
Bossypants made for the perfect “on the beach” read. SO funny!
There was one day that we weren’t able to spend on the beach because of rain so instead we spent some time at the Columbia!
A pitcher of mojitos never hurt anybody! ( I shared this pitcher of course ) ;)
That rainy night Matt and I took advantage of the opportunity to go to the Rays game because where we were staying so darn close to the field! They lost that night…..but I still had a great time with my best friend!
Four days spent reading on the beach, sharing meals with my family, enjoying coffee to the sound of the waves, and taking night time walks on the shore with Matt….just enough.
We packed up and headed home, ready to get back to our creative work and our sweet doggie. When we got home I had a package from my sweet friend Bre who blogs over at The Pickled Zombie (she’s got a thing for zombies) !
A just -for-the-heck-of-it package of fun! She makes the best bow headbands made from vintage ties….cute right?! Thank you sweet friend!
If you think this headband is super cute go say hi to Bre at The Pickled Zombie and tell her she needs to sell them! ;)
tomorrow: Inspire me Monday…..a little late ;)
